These vases are decorated in several different ways. Some are done with contrasting glaze designs with raw clay. Some are done with porcelain slip. Many are made with leaves from my garden. The leaves are clay that is applied to the thrown form. They are unglazed and raised up above the level of the glazed surface. Mostly I use bleeding heart leaves, because of their graceful delicate shape. Some of the vases are also decorated with a critter... a dragonfly, frog, or salamander.
